Be Informed and Act - even in a small way.
Update: March 17, 2025
The Public Hearing was Wed, March 5 and Thurs. March 6. On the first night, the Saanich Fairgrounds hall was standing room only - approximately 300 people - and others on video. The second night there were, perhaps, 100 people. We attended the Council meeting on Monday, March 10 fully expecting a decision. Instead, the Third Reading of the Bylaw was passed by a vote of 4/3. For: Mayor Windsor, Sarah Riddell, Chris Graham and Niall Paltiel. Against: Gord Newton, Zeb King and Bob Thompson. After Third Reading there is a vote to "Adopt". The Mayor stated that he "needed more time" to decide on this. We have heard the decision may not be until May which was quite a shock to all involved as this process has now dragged on for almost 2 years. Thank you! Thank you everyone for your support and participation! We could not have done this without you! 422 residents of Central Saanich signed the petition in a short period of time. Many spoke at the hearing, and many also sent letters to Council. This participation is crucial in these municipal matters. How to Contact Our Council:
